In normal motor vehicle the disk brake material is made of cast iron or ceramic material. In case of racing such materials may not meet the operation needed for high speeds. So to meet the need, materials used in airplanes braking system is utilized in this case. Reinforced carbon is the material which was first implemented by Dunlop in Formula one race during mid seventies. Carbon-carbon braking is the advancement in this material which is used in almost all racing cars today. The main advantage is the retaining of the material property at high temperatures.
